We invite you to view the live-streamed service and sign his virtual guestbook on this page.On January 6, 1961, Billy Dewayne Johnson, Jr. was born to the late Billy and Mary (Cockrum) Johnson, Sr. in Crosbyton, TX. He grew up in Crosbyton and Ralls and graduated from Ralls High School. Billy married Michelle Rackley on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1995, in Idalou, Texas.Billy grew up in Crosby County attending school in Crosbyton and then Ralls. As a teenager, he enjoyed fast cars and working with his dad at Abell – Pruitt in Ralls. After graduation for a short time, he lived in Iowa Park working in the oil fields with his uncle. After leaving Iowa Park he began his 26-year career as a Telecommunication Technician working for GTE, POKA LAMBRO, Southwestern Bell, and Windstream Communications. For a short time, Billy lived in Matador and was on the Volunteer Fire Depart. Billy Had many Hobbies but his favorite was woodworking after his grandfather H. B. Johnson. Billy enjoyed camping, cooking on the grill, and spending time with family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed watching and cheering his children and grandchildren on at all their sporting, and school events. Billy had a kind and loving heart, and an interesting sense of humor, especially with his kids and their friends. The last few months he enjoyed spending time with his wife, driving around in the country, and attending church together.Survivors include his wife, Michelle Johnson of Crosbyton; children, Justin “JJ” (Amber) Johnson, Toni (Josh) Smith, Matthew (Harley) Johnson, all of Lubbock, and Tyler (Kianna) Johnson, of Midland; grandchildren, Morgan Johnson, Malorie Johnson, Kyler Smith, Preston Johnson, Aaron Smith, Westin Johnson, Rylee Johnson, Raidyn Smith, Tate Johnson, Maison Johnson, Westlyn Smith, and Baby Boy Johnson; and brothers, Tommy Johnson (Kasey), of Lubbock, and Brian Johnson of Crosbyton; 4 nephews, 6 nieces, 8 great-nephews, 12 great-nieces, and 1 great-great niece: A very special friend Leslie his nurse with Hospice, and his 4 legged bed, and truck riding buddy Raider who dearly misses him.Preceded in death by his parents Billy and Mary Johnson, Sr., Grandparents H.B and Georgia Johnson, Buster and LouElla Cockrum, and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins
