Bill was born on December 17, 1949, the only child of the late William and Francis (Kilgore) Springer in Silver City, NM. He moved to Arizona as a child and graduated from Silver Bell High School. Following high school, Bill moved to Colorado and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. He moved to Lubbock to start working at University Medical Center and furthered his education by earning his MBA from Texas Tech University. Bill worked as a Perfusionist at University Medical Center for thirty years. He loved his job and being part of the UMC team. On January 3, 2009, he married Stephanie Lane in Lubbock. Bill enjoyed rebuilding old cars and woodworking. Bill was an all-around handy man and could complete any task at hand. He also enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Hadleigh and was fondly known as “Wills”. He will be missed by his family and his UMC family. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Denise Carson-Springer, five children, Vanessa (Chris) Springer-Robertson, Brandon Springer, and Veronica Springer all of Frisco and Kayla (Brandon Black) Carson, and Brock Carson, a beloved granddaughter, Hadleigh Grace Black, all of Lubbock and his father and mother-in-law, Abe and Carolyn Lane of Friona. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Heart Association.
