We invite you to sign her virtual guestbook and download her memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing. On July 20, 1943, Beverly Joan was born to J. B. and Pauline Parks in Sikeston, Missouri. She married Jerry Shelton on July 1, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Tatum, New Mexico.Beverly met the love of her life during high school, and she and Jerry were married shortly after graduation. I was true love, and the couple was inseparable for over 49 years. As Beverly’s children were born, her true calling in life was revealed. She was an incredibly loving mother to her children. She spent countless hours attending every type of school and extracurricular event possible. All her children’s friends felt at home at our house, and Beverly loved these friends and built lifelong bonds with them. As her children added spouses to the family, they were loved equally. As grandchildren and great-grandchildren were added to the family, they became the focus of her life in her later years. When you walked into her home, you knew two things were going to happen…you were going to be loved, and you were going to eat. She was always referred to as either “Mom” or “Nanaw” and was the glue that held the Shelton family together.Survivors include her children, Kelley McCanlies and Greg (Mary) Shelton, grandchildren, Landon Bonds, Jarred Nolen, Jaxon McCanlies, Pierce Shelton, Jacob Shelton, and Kaitlyn Shelton; great-grandchildren, Everett Nolen, Atlas Nolen; sister, Melba Cardwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. B. and Pauline Parks; husband, Jerry Shelton; son-in-law, Johnny McCanlies.
