Betty was born on February 24, 1925 to Albert and Hattie Bryan Alexander in Caprock, Texas. She was employed by the City of Lubbock as bookkeeper for 27 years. Following retirement, Betty was employed as a bookkeeper for Alderson Cadillac. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Shipley, March of 2000 in Lubbock, Texas. Betty was especial proud of a sweepstakes award from the Levelland Garden Club in May of 1983.Survivors include her sister, Linda Samples-McBride and husband, Bailey of Edmond, OK; one nephew; five nieces; five step-children; two special friends, Shirley Couch and Maurene Pearson.She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Alfred and Hattie Ethel Alexander; and husband, Jimmy Shipley.
