The family of Bennie Burl Brown will celebrate his life of 87 years at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Trinity Church with graveside services at 2:00 PM in Terry County Memorial Park, Brownfield. His family will also host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed away on July 18, 2021. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page, sign his virtual guestbook, and download his memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing.On May 5, 1934, Bennie was born to Louis Alvin and Beulah Pearl (Smith) Brown in Brownfield, TX. He attended Wellman Independent School District and was on the first football team of Wellman High. Bennie married his childhood sweetheart, LaDeane Jordan, on May 24, 1952. He started his farming career in the Tokio area in 1957. He and his young family then moved to the Brownfield area in 1959, where he continued his lifelong farming career of 45 years. In 2011, Bennie and LaDeane moved to Lubbock to be closer to family and friends, especially their friends at Trinity Church and the Prime Timers class. Bennie’s life can be summarized by his faith, his family, and especially his grandchildren, along with gardening and farming. Those were the passions of a life well-lived.Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years, LaDeane Brown; their children, Candy (Randy) Hall, Terry Brown and Steve (Carolyn) Brown; grandchildren, Russell (Krystal) Hall, Trevor (Lara) Hall, Elizabeth (Lucas) Brown, Andrew (Lindsey) Brown, David (Jackie) Brown, Matthew Brown, Jeremy (Sarah) Brown, and Daniel (Audrey) Brown, fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jordan Brown; sisters, Joy Hargrave and Verna Jo Hargrave; and brother, Robert Brown.The family of Bennie Brown has designated the For Her Women’s Medical Services formerly Heartline, 2309 Broadway, Lubbock, Texas 79401, or the Terry County Cemetery Association, 500 West Main Street Room 104, Brownfield, Texas 79316, for memorial contributions donated in his memory.
