It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Becky Daleen Hughes, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on November 16, 2023, at the age of 56. A resident of Lubbock, Texas, Becky was born in Friona, Texas, on January 21, 1967, to the late William Larry and Patsy Eilene Webb.
Becky started school in Bovina, Texas and later moved to Adrian, Texas where she graduated from high school. She attended Clarendon College where she was part of a band called Slow Motion. She then moved to a band called Patchwork with her father and brother. Currently she was in a band called Without a Doubt.
Becky dedicated herself to her family and her career as a bookkeeper at Acme Brick for the past 26 years. She used her beautiful voice to entertain and uplift others. She was a member of Genesis Baptist Fellowship where she sang and played praises to her Lord. We are assured and know she is worshipping at Jesus’ feet in heaven today.
She will forever be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering love for her children, Brennan, and Baylee Hughes. Becky loved her children, and they were her life. She never missed a ball game, loved band boosters, and supported Brennan and Baylee in every activity with enthusiasm and tireless effort. All of this was accomplished as a working single parent, who also cared for an aging parent. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help in any way she could.
Becky’s memory will also live on through her other surviving relatives, including her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Kendell Webb and Michelle Murphy of Lubbock, her niece, Kirklyn Webb of Lubbock, and partner Charlie Rodgers of Amarillo. And her four-legged son Tebow.
A Celebration of Life to honor Becky’s memory will be held on November 21, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, at 10:00 am. Prior to the ceremony, a visitation will take place on November 20, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to share memories and offer condolences. Following the funeral services, Becky will be laid to rest at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park beside her parents. Please visit www.memorialdesigners.net for a service broadcasting schedule, floral purchasing, and an area to share stories of Becky with her family.
