Gilberta Anne was born on April 23, 1944 to James and Zeda Spurgin in Odessa, Texas. Anne was a graduate of Permian High School in Odessa, where she was a member of the speech club and the pep squad. After moving to Lubbock, Anne began working in the freight line and trucking industry; Time-D.C. and then Sun Freightways. She had spent the last 19 years of her working career at South Plains Electric Co-op.Survivors include her daughters, Kelley Ward and husband, Ross; Jamie Schaffner and husband, Jamie; grandchildren, Madison Lohmeyer and husband, Nathan; and Cade Schaffner; and sister, Jamina Ford and husband, Tommy.She was preceded in death by her parents.
