Ann Wyatt was born on February 11, 1946, to HB and Lavoy Miller in Lamesa, Texas. As a student-athlete, she participated in volleyball and went on to play at the state tournament and made the All-tournament team. She was also involved in band and cheerleading. She married Johnny Ronald Wyatt on January 4, 1964, in Tahoka, Texas, and made New Home her residence where she raised her family and continued to support all youth programs in the community.
Though raising her family was her main priority, Ann also worked for Eddins-Walcher, at Nunn Electric, as an assistant to the District Attorney of Lubbock, and helped open up the Lubbock Auto Theft Task Force. Ann and her best friend, Peggy Morrow, were always finding new hobbies in life. Her hobbies were sponsoring stock show trips with the FFA, PTA, Boy Scout Den Mother, senior trips, bowling, ceramics, racquetball, stained glass, karate, and stenography. She loved boxing events, taking her kids to concerts, cooking, riding with the windows down or just traveling back and forth to take care of family members. The most important thing to Ann was her love for the Lord. She shared her faith with her family often and instilled the same love for Christ in them.
Ann will best be remembered for her love of family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, road trips, and loyalty to her friends. DD, as her Grandkids called her, traveled near and far to see their events and loved them dearly. She seemed to have a different and special relationship with each of them individually yet loved them all the same.
Ann is survived by her children, Jeff (Juli) Wyatt, Jim (Melinda) Wyatt, and Julie (Kevin) Bell; grandchildren, Ashton Bell, Dr. Bailey Bell, Weston Wyatt, and Walker Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Harper and Denver Drury, and her brother David Miller. She is preceded in death by her spouse Ronald Wyatt, siblings, Norma Tuttle, Polly Barringer, and Rusty Miller, and parents HB Miller and Max and Lavoy Leach.
She passed on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024.
