It Is with our deepest sadness to announce the passing of Anne Marie Martin. She went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the age of 68. We have very heavy hearts, but we also rejoice in her faith and the understanding she is in the presence of God’s glory and with her daughter, Jennifer.
Ann was born on December 11, 1956, to Archie and Eloise Shattuck Schmieder in Milwaukee, WI.
Ann loved being outside in nature, and you could find her feeding the birds, walking the dogs, enjoying the sunshine, and being in the pool. She was a good listener for her many friends and family. She loved being a mother and a grandmother, aka Grammy. She cherished her grandchildren and loved making memories with them, especially baking cookies in the kitchen. She spent many years in the Alanon Family Group, inspiring others to navigate the disease of alcoholism. She was a devoted wife of almost 30 years and will be terribly missed by her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Martin; children, Amy (Tommy) Hill, Winnde Buckelew, Tim Pierzchalski; and her grandchildren, Ella Marie Hill, Blake (Cassidy) Buckelew, Kaden Buckelew, Tyler Pierzchalski, Addie Pierzchalski, and Tanner Pierzchalski. She is also survived by her siblings, Dave (Laurel) Schmieder, sister-in-law, Kaua (Ken) Gallegly, Shelia David; and her beloved dogs, Sammy and Buddy, aka Slick.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Eloise Schmieder, daughter, Jennifer Pierzchalski, and sister, Mary Schmieder.
A service to celebrate her life is scheduled for 10:30 am on Saturday May 17, 2025, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a time of fellowship with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Ann kindly requested that donations be made to Higginbotham ministries in her memory. Higginbotham, 1718 33rd St, Lubbock, TX 79411. https://www.lubbockministry.org/
