Angie Treadwell

L. Angela (Angie) Treadwell departed this life on March 03, 2024. When she awakens, she will be in a perfect place in perfect health and in perfect peace because she had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior.

Angie was born on February 2, 1944 in Orange, TX and grew up in Seminole, TX. She married Drex Don Treadwell on November 20, 1960. They had three sons and one daughter. Angie and Drex worked together to build their business, Lamesa Electric Motors, where she was office manager and was even known to rewind motors when needed! They also owned and maintained numerous rental properties together in Lamesa. After Drex’s death in 1989, she pursued further education at Texas Tech to become a licensed substance abuse counselor. She moved to Lubbock in 1995.

Besides her children and grandchildren, Angie’s legacy is that she helped so many people who were struggling in life, both through her work as a counselor, and also in providing housing, food, care, and occasionally even a vehicle. Angie had a tremendous green thumb and in her later years, her yard and home were filled with beautiful flowers and plants of all varieties. She also loved dancing, painting, crafting, and her dogs.

Angie is survived by her loving family: son Chad Treadwell and his wife, Jessica, and Chad’s children, Chelsea, Chris, and Chance (wife Katie); son Brad Treadwell and his wife, Cheryl, and their children, Sheridan and Dylan (wife Elaina); son Thad Treadwell and his children, Tatum, Tagan, and Payton (stepson); and daughter Ginna Treadwell. She is also survived by her brother Robert Pittman, sister Dianne James, sister Debbie Pittman, brother Carter Pittman and numerous other beloved Pittman and Treadwell family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Drex; her grandparents who raised her, R.W. and Ione Pittman; her parents-in-law, R.D. and Leta Treadwell; her parents; her brother Scott Pittman, and sister Glynda Ackley.

The family would like to thank the UMC Hospice staff for their attentive and compassionate care during the last several months and especially during Angie’s final days.

A memorial gathering for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
