Von McLaughlin

Von Harold McLaughlin, born 5 October 1935, passed away 19 January 2021 at the age of 85 in Lubbock, Texas. Von was born in Matherville, Illinois. He married Nellie June (Ross) McLaughlin on 14 February 1958. Von traveled the world as a pilot in the US Air Force. He held a Bachelor of Archeology and a Masters of Business. He had a love for flying, was skilled in drawing and photography, and enjoyed research and genealogy. Von was multilingual and loved to talk about his faith, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Von particularly delighted in his family. He will forever be remembered as “Papa”. Memories include artfully designing the couch cushions into a “couch-house” for his grand-kids.Von was preceded in death by his father, Harold Arthur McLaughlin; and his mother, Ruth Elaine McLaughlin.He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Nellie McLaughlin; and their four sons; Harold (wife Beth), Mark (wife Karen), Jesse (wife Amanda), and Daniel (wife Jenny); along with six grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Bailey, Madison, Connor, and Seth; and two great-grandchildren, Ian and Owen.
