On November 7, 1953, Susan was born to Bill and Lometa Wolfe in Lubbock, TX. Susan graduated from Coronado High School and attended Texas Tech University. She married Gary Smith on June 30, 1973. Susan retired from a career at Texas Tech Police Department.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Smith; their children, Amber Hodge, and Angie Greenlee; grandchildren, Ben Hodge, Kaden Greenlee, Abiel Flores, Kolton Greenlee, and Ally Greenlee; and a sister, Phyllis Freeman.

She was preceded in death by parents and a grandson, Kolby Greenlee.
