My heart is with you Robin and the girls along with the rest of the family. While you were in MN, Russ was one of the men that helped bring stability to my home that was on such shaky ground. I loved always helping at church and being busy with working and I would lose myself in that work. Russ was one that would bring me back from just being a workaholic to being a friend to many. The night that sticks out in my mind so greatly is the night of the hay ride at my place when anything that could go wrong did. Russ was one of the two men from church who were their for me. Most were their for the kids which is totally understandable as that is where my mind was and gone off to and out of control at. Russ was one who was there with a steady voice for not just that night but the following days. He was one who was their though it all. He was a great friend to a Cheese head living in MN. The guy you just could not get to move to TX. Blessings to you Robin and to each Girl and their family. May that great hole you feel in your hearts right now start to be filled with fantastic memories of Russ and the love he shared with you and others.

I met Russ when I started my career at PTC in 2006. He served as a mentor and someone to aspire to be like - in and out of work. I always enjoyed his company and looked forward to spending time with him. Russ helped me out on a number of challenging accounts at PTC and helped me grow in my career. I hold Russ in high esteem and will always remember him.

Russ was always a kind and caring PTC colleague. I'm grateful for how he loved and served his coworkers to help make PTC such a great place to work.

Andrew Hoye left a message on October 9, 2025:
I had the privilege of working with Russ at PTC for a little over 7 years mostly on project staffing. We worked closely together, from making staffing decisions for his team to asking him to save the day by going on a last minute trip to a customer in the middle of nowhere. Russ was someone I could always count on, whether it was for help with a tough situation or just to bounce around ideas. I’m sure he loved seeing messages from me on teams that started with “Quick call?” because it was never quick and usually meant there was a big problem to solve. But no matter what, those calls always ended with laughter and a “we’ll figure it out.” With all the changes that happened at PTC over the years, Russ had seen it all. He’d often start a story with “in the old days” and talk about how things used to be done. Not much ever phased him, and even during difficult times, he found a way to keep things light and get everyone laughing. Russ will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. His kindness, humor, and just overall presence made a significant impact and me, and I'll never forget him.

I retired from PTC a year ago, and while I worked there for 15 years it was only in the last few years of my tenure that I came to know Russ. We worked together sparingly, so I believe that gives me a perspective to share that is different from those of you who now mourn his loss - I can tell you what it was like to only know him a little. And I want to tell you that it was a pleasure to have had his acquaintance. It did not take long to learn that he was someone without guile, manipulation, or selfish agenda. He was constructive, clear speaking, open minded, would speak up for others, and had an easy-going sense of humor. He cared about his PTC flock, and in short, was a man of such good character. None of this surprises those of you who knew him far far better than me - to you my words merely scratch the surface. But I wanted you to know that Russ made this positive impression on me. And I feel it safe to say there are *hundreds* of others he interacted with in his professional career who you're unlikely to ever hear from, but (like me) were left better off from their time with Russ. I offer these words on their behalf. I will miss him and am sincerely sorry for your loss.

Russ and I met decades ago when I joined PTC. Russ was a great colleague, mentor and above all a raconteur. At our many team dinners over the years, you wanted to grab a seat next to Russ. He had a story for every topic, and every conversation. Not just limited to engineering (and he certainly knew his field, inside and out) I particularly remember when he told me all of the ways to "discourage" prarie dogs from digging up your farm. I have yet to put any of his recommendations into practice, but I'm glad to have them in my back pocket if the need ever arises. Russ will certainly be missed by all of us.

Russ was one of my favorite people at PTC. He was always incredibly capable, consistently expected the best from everyone, and never hesitated to stand up for his team. Being a consultant can be tough — it often means time away from family and working on challenging engagements. Having someone like Russ on your team made those times not only manageable but genuinely enjoyable. He was a joy to be around and always had the best stories to make you laugh. He will be deeply missed.
Marc Archer left a message on October 9, 2025:
Russ was a skilled practitioner in all things PTC. He was rewarded for his leadership to lead a team of his own, which he did with professionalism, humility and a good bit of humor. We will all miss Russ terribly in both our Professional Services team, as well as PTC at large. Rest in peace Russ, you and your family will always be in our hearts and minds.

I worked with Russ for almost 25 years at PTC. He was one of the most helpful, encouraging, knowledgeable, principled and intelligent people I've ever had the privilege of crossing paths with. Toward the end of time at PTC, Russ was my manager and he was one of the best I've had. I could be comfortable going to him and be open knowing he was always focused on just doing what's right, without fear of belittlement. He was truly a great co-worker and just an all around fun person to be with, especially when we're all away from home, traveling and looking for camaraderie. Russ was one of the good guys and I will miss him. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Russ and I join PTC in 1999. We worked together often, sometimes traveling together and sometimes meeting remotely. He was the best co-worker anyone could have. He also became a great friend. I'll never forget hanging out with Russ after work while traveling. I will be praying for Robin and family as you grieve.

Russ was one of the best people I have ever known. We worked together for 25+ years at PTC. We had been peers, then he was my coach/manager, so many times I have lost count. Mostly he was my friend. Russ will be missed!!

Russ was one of the kindest, smartest, and most logical people I’ve ever known. We worked together for 20+ years in a very demanding environment, and I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have on my team than Russ. He was at the same time encouraging and demanding. Always willing to help but not afraid to hold you accountable. He was particularly great with young people just starting their professional journey and had a special knack for keeping customers “inside the boundaries”. He will be greatly missed by many in our industry, me included!
