Robert P. Palmer was born on August 31, 1945, to George and Mildred Palmer in South Bend, Indiana and passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017.He graduated from Meade County High School in Brandenburg, Kentucky in 1963, and received his BA in 1967, from The Ohio State University in both Political Science, and Chemistry. Bob attended law school at the University of Kentucky, and graduated with his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1970. He began his legal career as an Assistant United States Attorney in Washington D.C. Bob went on to become regional counsel for the Consumer Product Safety Commission, General Counsel for Halliburton, Associate Partner for Jackson and Walker LLP in Dallas, and then went into private counsel until 2009, when he retired and moved to Lubbock, Texas. Bob was an active member in the Republican Party in Dallas from 1978, where he was Precinct Chairman until 2009. When Bob moved to Lubbock he became Precinct Chairman from 2010 until 2014. He loved God, hunting, friends, and fellowship.He is survived by his children, Michael P. Palmer of Lubbock, and Matthew D. Palmer and wife, Maribeth of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren, Anna Dawson, Elizabeth Garland, and Matthew Pryce Palmer.His parents, George and Mildred Palmer, preceded him in death.
