The family of Randy Parsons will celebrate his life of 85 years at 1:30 PM, Monday, August 9, 2021, at First Baptist Church. His family will also host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Parsons and Graham Armstrong Parsons. He graduated from Waxahachie High School, Baylor University, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Randy’s career was dedicated to church music as he served churches in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. The last fourteen years of ministry were at Trinity Baptist Church in Lubbock. When able to go back to work after a liver transplant, he served as an adjunct professor in church administration and academic advisor at Wayland Baptist University, Lubbock campus.Randy loved working with sanctuary choirs, youth choirs, and ensembles. He sang with the Singing Men of Texas and traveled with the group on concert tours in Brazil and Australia and performed at the Myerson Symphony Center in Dallas.On August 26, 1958, Randy married Myrna Darden in Lorenzo.He is survived by his wife, son, Matt (Teresa) of Eugene, OR; daughter Pam Ketelboeter (Randy) of Murrieta, CA; brother John Parsons (Claudia) of Waxahachie, TX; sister-in-law Mary Mathieson (Price) of Abilene, TX; sister-in-law Bobbie Eaker (Allen) of Scottsdale, AZ; brother-in-law Robert Lockwood (Sharon) of Lorenzo; nephews Ron and Mark Lockwood, and niece Pam Lockwood Cooke. Grandchildren include Morgan and Brandon Parsons, Taylor and Ryan Ketelboeter.Randy was predeceased by his parents; sister, Jeannine Bullion; Myrna’s parents, Theady and Verna Darden; and sister-in-law, Betty Darden Lockwood.
