Nancy Olivia Piper, 77, of Lubbock, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake Ridge Chapel, 6025 82nd Street in Lubbock, with Brandon Cruz officiating. The viewing for family members will be on Friday afternoon.
Nancy was born November 8, 1949, in Lubbock, Texas, to Howard and Joan Welborn. She previously was married to Ronald Beggs, with whom she had five children who were the lights of her life. Subsequently, she married Kerry Piper on January 2, 1994, in Lubbock and loved him with all her heart. She was a retired legal assistant and was deeply dedicated to caring for her family, with a particularly soft spot for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy was known for her kindness and devotion, and she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Kerry Piper; her brother, David Welborn and wife Cathe, of Moore, Oklahoma; her brother, Mark Welborn and wife Ronda, of Lubbock; her sister, Beth Logan and husband Kevin, of Lewisville, Texas; her son, James Beggs and wife Cathy, of San Antonio; her daughter, Kimberly Brumley and husband Scott, of Amarillo; her son, Troy Beggs, of Tacoma, Washington; her son, Daniel Beggs, of Plainview; her daughter, Deborah Dilbeck, of Tacoma, Washington; Kerry’s daughter Julie Garafola and husband Mike, of Ruffin, North Carolina; and Kerry’s son James Piper and wife Biggi, of Detroit, Michigan; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
