Mary was a strong fiery woman. She raised four children and spoiled six grandchildren. From a young age, Mary was a hard worker who held many different jobs during her lifetime. She owned a beauty salon in Slaton, Texas. Mary also sold cars for Chrysler but then switched her career to working with Southland ISD to be able to watch her children’s sporting events. Once her children graduated, she sold furniture at a local store and befriended many customers who still ask about her to this day. Mary worked hard and made impressions everywhere she went. From a young age, Mary instilled a strong work ethic in her children; she would take them every summer to work in the cotton fields to teach them the value of hard work. Those values were then passed down to Mary’s grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Mary enjoyed the little things in life, like watching for hummingbirds, playing the weekly scratch-offs, and watching Judge Judy and Wheel of Fortune. Mary was also an avid doll collector and seek and find player. She enjoyed flowers and feeding birds in her backyard. Her love for the creation around her was inspiring. Mary Hiracheta was as caring as she was independent, and she loved each of her family and friends very much.Survivors include her children, Olga Hiracheta of Southland, Jimmy Hiracheta and wife Connye of Lubbock, Jerry Hiracheta and wife Jeanette of Wolfforth, and Terri Marquez and husband Raul of Lubbock; nine grandchildren, Zachary Saenz, Alexis Saenz, Ayrial Hiracheta, Hannah Hiracheta, Victor Rodriguez, Patrick Rodriguez, Adrian Rodriguez, Jessie Marquez, and Miranda Marquez; three sisters, Gloria Kuzila and husband Matt, Julia Arguello, and Phyllis Cisneros; and two brothers, Cario Cisneros and wife Carmen, and Steve Valdarez and wife Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous brothers and sisters.
