Fred Manchester left a message on August 19, 2025:
I first met Lori in 1999, shortly after I moved to Lubbock to take over the Human Resources function for Coca-Cola Enterprises in West Texas. The person in that role left within my first couple of weeks, and inside I was in a bit of a panic. I didn’t know anyone, the systems, or the culture. Then I found Lori. From our first interview, I knew she was the right person. I can still remember meeting her at Whataburger to offer her the job — I had a #1, and she was so nervous she couldn’t eat. That day was the beginning of a true partnership. Together we rebuilt the HR function in West Texas. I taught her the Coke business, and she taught me about West Texas — a place I came to love. Honestly, I might not have made it without her. Even after I moved to Dallas, I continued to work with Lori for a total of 19 years. Her HR department became the rock that anchored the rest of the HR Team. Many times over the years, I’d call her in the afternoon from Dallas to ask her opinion on an issue — and I knew she’d always shoot straight with me. From time to time she’d kid me about Whataburger. She’d she’d say it was the strangest job offer she’d ever received, and I’d reply, “I offered to buy you lunch - your fault you missed out on a free lunch.” That was Lori — professional, sharp, reliable, and at the same time, warm and full of humor. She was a highly respected team member, HR professional, and Coke person. But more than that, she was a friend. I was lucky to be her teammate and even luckier to be able to call her my friend. Lori, it was always such a joy to be around you. I remember when I first joined CCSWB back in 2021 and was still living in Lubbock — you welcomed me into the office with open arms, showed me around the facility, and made me feel right at home with the team. And you carried that same warmth when I re-joined the team last year! You were a fantastic partner to work with on our various processes — always patient, thoughtful, and full of joy. You will be sincerely missed. Rest easy, Lori. ❤️

I wanted to take a moment to share just how much Lori meant to all of us at work. Lori was truly a ray of sunshine—always arriving with a smile and an open heart, no matter the day or circumstance. She had a way of lighting up every room she walked into, making meetings not just productive but genuinely joyful. Lori brought warmth, positivity, and kindness into our professional lives, and her contributions were as thoughtful and impactful as her spirit was uplifting. She made work feel a little less like work, simply by being herself. We will miss her deeply—not just as a colleague, but as a dear friend. The world has lost a beautiful soul, and we are all better for having known her. With heartfelt sympathy, Roya Howe
