It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Sue Brown, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Linda peacefully departed from this earthly life on December 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 4, 1946, in Crosbyton, Texas. She earned a bachelors in education from Abilene Christian University. She married the love of her life, Jim Brown on August 16, 1968, at her home in Celeste, Texas.
Linda dedicated her life to education, instilling knowledge and kindness in the hearts of countless students. Her passion for teaching was evident in her many years of service in the education industry. She taught in Cloudcroft ISD as a Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher, which was her passion.
Linda’s memory will forever be cherished by her adoring family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jim Brown, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Linda was a beacon of love and support for her children, James (Elena) Brown, Jay (Lize Mey) Brown, April (Danny) Pectol, and Christina (Mike Wilson) Brown, guiding them with wisdom and affection. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Anna Brown, Brian Brown, Conner Brown, Aedan Pectol, Shelby Petersen, Lyon Wilson, and Bonnie Wilson.
In addition to her cherished family, Linda is survived by her sisters, Wanda (Harry) Brewer, Janis Bailey, and Judy Justus. She treasured the special bond she shared with each of them.
She is preceded by her father, Eural Justus; and her mother and stepfather, Sybil and Jack Hutcheson.
