We also ask you to consider viewing her Life Tribute, a video of photographs set to her favorite music.On August 4, 1940, Linda Gay was born to John and Alma Thomas in Seagraves, Texas. Linda grew up with three brothers and two sisters. Upon graduating from Sundown High School, Linda went to work for First National Bank in Levelland. After taking some time off to be with her young children, Linda went back to work for First National Bank in the Lubbock location. Linda worked for First National Bank for more than 30 years. Linda married Gayland Patterson on May 23, 1980, at Monterey Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. They lived in Plainview for seven years and moved to Lubbock in 1987. Linda and Gayland were married for 27 years. They traveled all over the United States together, eventually seeing 48 states. Linda and Gayland attended Oakwood Baptist Church and made many friends there. Linda was a loving mother and grandmother. For Linda, the family was everything. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Family reunions filled her heart with joy. Linda loved the particular time she spent with her friends and always looked forward to seeing or hearing from her “lunch bunch.” Linda enjoyed cooking, hosting, and feeding those she loved – a trait passed on to her son and granddaughter. Linda was generous. She was always looking for someone in need that she could help. Linda had bright blue eyes, a beautiful smile, and a servant’s heart.Survivors include her children, Michael (Donise) Foster, Kyle (Stacy) Foster, Julie (Larry) Levick, and Laura (Johnny) Oswalt; grandchildren, Kaitlin Foster, Cole Foster, Shelly Masters, JoAnn Haynes, Kirk Oswalt, BJ Oswalt, Heather Oswalt, Rojji Lewis, Robert Lewis II, Mitchell Lewis; great-grandchildren, Jake Haynes, Jack Haynes, Janie Haynes, Luke Oswalt, Levi Oswalt, Maya Masters, Dylan Masters, and Harper Fletcher and sister, Pat Thomas Parker.Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Thomas; siblings, Brien Thomas, Jack Thomas, John Thomas, and JoAnn Thomas Parker; her husband, Gayland; and daughter, Gayle Lewis.
