The family of Kyla Denise Reid will celebrate her life of 56 years at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Southcrest Baptist Church. She passed on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Kyla was born November 2, 1965, in Lubbock to Johnny and Lynda Fields. On July 20, 1984, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Randal Reid. Together they raised three daughters and a son.Kyla had two passions in life. First, was her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her love for her family was a close second. She loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and many others who were considered family.Through the years Kyla was involved in many forms of outreach. She was active in both Abernathy and Idalou schools, the Emmaus community, and mentoring youth from the Abernathy FBC. Kyla loved to run, spend time at the lake, or attend a Styx concert with her best friend, Randal. But her favorite pastime by far was the time spent as B with her four precious grandbabies!Kyla is preceded in death by her father Johnny Fields, brother Cory Fields, paternal grandparents H.V. and Margaret Fields, maternal grandparents Cotton and Marie Smith, and niece Anabel Reid.Kyla is survived by husband Randal Reid, daughters Jacey and Whitney Reid, son Jake Reid, and daughter Lexi Dowdy (Tyler); grandchildren Kanyon Baker (12), Emmalyn Dowdy (3), Olive Reid (2), Colin Dowdy (1); her mother Lynda Fields, and brothers Brent Fields and Dink Fields (Chiree). Also left to cherish her memory are numerous loved ones, including cousins, nieces, nephews, “sistas”, an aunt, and an uncle.
