Kandace Katherine Manley, age 78, beloved mother, nana, sister, cousin, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on November 5, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Kandace touched the lives of everyone she met with her unwavering kindness and love.
Kandace was known for her compassion and dedication in her profession as a Nurse (LVN) in the medical field. She earned her LVN right after high school and applied her extensive knowledge and caring nature to help those in need throughout her career.
Kandace’s greatest joys came from her precious family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She nurtured them with a warm heart and instilled in them the values of love, faith, and respect, (and a little piss and vinegar).
An avid lover of cats and birds, Kandace found beauty in nature and always took time to appreciate the simple joys of life. Her strong faith in God guided her through everything, providing her with a deep sense of peace and purpose.
Kandace Katherine Manley will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile, radiant spirit, and caring heart will forever remain in our hearts.
Kandace is survived by her beloved daughter, Nancy Swinford, her grandson Paeden Swinford, her granddaughter Kaylee Niebuhr, her sisters Toni Anderson and Stacy Carrott, and her cousins Steve Rutherford and Mark Rutherford.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marilyn Efemenko, and David Bourgeois and her stepfather Alexander Efemenko, who each played a significant role in her life.
