The family of Wanda Joyce Fields will host a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 02, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 96 years is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Joyce was an active member of Eastern Star for well over 50 years. She served not only locally, but also held many offices in the state Grand Chapter including Deputy Grand Matron, Grand Representative of Maryland to Texas and was ultimately named “Matron of the Plains” for her outstanding service to the Order.
She joyfully sang with Sweet Adelines and was part of the “Singing Sisters” who performed locally, as well as in many states and overseas.
Joyce was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, serving faithfully in too many capacities to list.
Joyce was a people person who never met a stranger and charmed every person with whom she came in contact.
Joyce is survived by her daughters Danna (Robert) Dewlen, Deborah (Jack) Savage; sister Linda (Bob) Duncan; niece Kim (Mark) Reaves; Nephew Reece (Sandra) Duncan; grandchildren Mike (Ginger) Dewlen, Chris (Kelly) Dewlen, Jacob Fields, Luci Edwards, Colin (Tammy) Gilmore, Amanda Garber, Caitlin (Ethan) Hagler, Julian Neel; great-grandchildren Connor Garber, Kyla Hagler, Jolie Garber, Jude Garber, Amelia Dewlen, Finley Dewlen.
She is predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Dan Fields, and by her son, David Fields.
