Jodi Lamb burned bright from the very start — born December 7, 1967, in Crosbyton, Texas, and raised on grit, horsepower, and heart. She made her way to Lubbock with her parents as a child, and it was in the Hub City that she revved up for a life lived full-throttle.
A 1985 graduate of Dunbar High School, Jodi was always the kind of woman who turned heads — not just because of her beauty, but because of her drive, independence, and don’t-mess-with-me spirit. She was a proud product of her father Joe Lamb’s legacy — the beloved J & L Auto Sales — and her love for fast cars.
Her happy place? Behind the wheel, staging up at the Dallas Motorplex with the smell of burning rubber in the air and the thrill of competition in her veins. Jodi loved drag racing. It wasn’t just a pastime — it was her adrenaline, her joy, her expression of freedom. She was a force on the track, and just as fierce off of it.
Life gave her its challenges — and she never backed down. Selfless to the core, Jodi fought valiantly against pulmonary issues in recent years with unmatched strength and grace, showing everyone around her what real courage looks like.
In 2001, Jodi’s life took another turn toward joy when she met Don Dunn — thanks to a cousinly setup that turned into a love-at-first-sight kind of story. He became her steadfast partner and rock, sharing a deep, unwavering bond built on love, laughter, and the open road.
Jodi was preceded in death by her father, Joe Lamb, a man whose love and influence she carried with her always.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Linda Lamb; her cherished daughter, Holley Lamb, who carries forward her fire and kindness; and her longtime partner in life and love, Don Dunn. Together, they formed the core of Jodi’s world — a world fueled by connection, loyalty, and a whole lot of horsepower.
Jodi leaves behind a legacy of bravery, thoughtfulness, fierce love, and undeniable coolness. She was a bad ass in the best sense of the word: independent, unshakable, unforgettable. She lived on her own terms — and though she left this world too soon, she did it full throttle, no regrets.
