The family of Jerry Gaskins will celebrate his life of 80 years at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Saturday, September 25, 2021, peacefully, surrounded by his family. Jerry obeyed the Gospel in baptism at age thirteen and graduated from Frenship High School in Wolfforth in 1959. In March 1961, he married the love of his life, Amy Gwen Burks. Jerry was a Master Mechanic, Welder, and Carpenter in Texas and Oklahoma until he became disabled due to lupus in 1982. Even after Jerry and Amy, Gwen moved from Oklahoma to Nevada, Missouri, and back to Texas; he enjoyed all his crafts as a hobby. Jerry served as a deacon at 78th, & University Church of Christ, Lubbock, TX before moving to Oklahoma in 1976. He also served as an elder at 4th & Broadway Church of Christ, Holdenville, OK. At his death, Jerry was a member of 78th & University Church of Christ. Jerry was a faithful Christian, husband, father, and friend. He will be missed for many things, one of those being the singing of gospel hymns with family, and at church gospel singings. He was always disappointed when they were over.Survivors include his wife, Amy Gwen Gaskins; their children, Rodney (Terry) Gaskins, Catherine (Ron) Stevenson, and Max (Christi) Gaskins; grandchildren, Devree Lewis, Brooke (Josh) Dale, Summer (Cecil) Fleming, Timothy (Cassie) Gaskins, Talon Gaskins, Megan Lewis, Dustin (Jessi) Gaskins, Shelley Stevenson, Jared Lewis, Emily Stevenson, Caden Gaskins; great-grandchildren, Zoey Fleming, Ace Fleming, Kasen Dale, Adeline Gaskins, Navey Dale, Caleb Gaskins, Oliver Gaskins, Beckett Dale; siblings, Jackie (Ann) Gaskins, Myrtie Gibson, Jo (James) McNabb, and Dianna (Fred) Jack.He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter-in-law, Robbi (Rodney) Gaskins, and a grandchild, Caleb (Max and Christi) Gaskins.
