Lola Jean Corder was born on August 1, 1936, in Snyder, Texas, to her loving parents, the late Curtis and Opal (Joiner) Knight.
Jean devoted her life to the pursuit of knowledge and dedicated herself to helping others through her notable career as a teacher. She obtained a master’s degree in education from Texas Tech University and embarked on a lifelong journey of shaping young minds.
Lola leaves behind her beloved husband of 70 years, Harold Corder, who stood by her side through thick and thin, supporting her unwaveringly. She is also survived by her loving daughter Janine Butler and her son-in-law Dan Butler, who will cherish her memory dearly.
A cherished grandmother, Lola will forever be remembered by her grandsons, Jackson (Ida) Butler, Stephen Butler (Irie), and Nick (Toni) Cover; and a very special great-granddaughter, Serenity. She was a guiding presence in their lives, imparting wisdom and love that will endure for generations to come.
Jean was also a sister to her dear siblings, Charles (Donna) Knight, Sue (Jim) Russell, Verna Schertz, and Carol Preston, with whom she shared countless memories and unbreakable bonds.
Those that went before her are her parents, Curtis and Opal Knight, her precious daughter, Diane Corder; brother, Curtis Knight and a brother-in-law, Chris Preston.
Jean, a beloved wife, mother, and educator, peacefully passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 87.
