James Rene Ortiz

The Ortiz family mourns the loss of their son, brother, and fiancé, James Ortiz, who died on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.  In support of the family’s health, there will not be a public ceremony. We also invite you to sign his virtual guestbook, and download his memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing.On May 20, 1969, James Rene was born to Daniel and Rosie  Ortiz in Lubbock, Texas. James was a selfless and generous man who lived to serve others in any way possible.   While growing up and attending school, he found his interest in soulful music and classic rock alongside his growing interest in classic cars.  James was very fond of troubleshooting, fixing, and restoring classic muscle cars with his close friends, as well as an occasional racing event from time to time.  Plus, he never missed a moment to share a witty joke, inspiring story, or moment with close family and friends.James had a very dynamic career working in construction, retail, Texas Tech University, and the end of his career was with Valmont.  Most recently, he was promoted to a Regional Sales Manager with Irrigation Components International, and he made a positive impact with his clients and aligned markets.  His peers and colleagues agreed James was a dynamic team player, proficient in his roles, and simply an incredible man with a contagious personality. James sought to deliver memorable experiences with his family, friends, and colleagues alike.James was a man of few words; yet, he created safe, inviting, and available spaces for others to be themselves and find comfort even in the toughest of times.  He sought to bring joy and laughter to others and walked in humility and strong conviction.Survivors include his mother, Rosie Ortiz, the love of his life, Patricia Molina, her children, who he loved as his own, Jarius, Jailyn, and Jadrien Molina; grandchild, Ja’layna Molina. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Joshua and Jessica Ortiz.
