Jack Carlton Daniels, affectionately known to family and friends as “Jackie,” was born on December 7, 1943, to Jack and Virginia Lee Banks Daniels in Haskell, Texas. On February 18, 1961, he married the love of his life, Addie Mae Brown, at Eastside Baptist Church in Haskell. Their bond of love and faith endured until Addie Mae’s passing in 2008.
From 1975 to 1990, Jackie worked as the parts manager at Gene Messer Ford in Lubbock, Texas, where he formed a close and lasting friendship with Mr. Gene Messer. Jackie’s caring and loyal nature shone through as he helped care for Mr. Messer during his health decline, a true testament to his servant’s heart.
In his free time, Jackie’s playful side came to life. He cherished playing Nintendo with his grandchildren, a hobby he loved so much that he often played on his own. Alongside gaming, he was a devoted collector of antique and NASCAR diecast cars, which he proudly displayed.
Jackie’s legacy lives on through his children: Vickie Daniels, Kimberly Daniels, and Johnny Daniels (and his wife Shanalee) of Tulia. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Though preceded in death by his wife Addie Mae and his parents, Jack and Virginia Lee Daniels, Jackie’s faith assures us that he is now reunited with them in the arms of the Lord. His life was marked by love, service, and devotion, and his warm spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
