George Alton Ewing was born May 4, 1941, to George and Thelma Ewing in Stamford, TX. Shortly after his birth, his family moved from Hamlin, Texas to Lubbock. George was a proud graduate of Lubbock High School Class of 1959. He joined the Lubbock Police Department in 1963, eventually rising to the rank of Assistant Chief prior to his retirement in 1999. He married Linda Clinton on November 26, 1980, in Lubbock. He and Linda soon began making many memories together and both particularly enjoyed their many cruises and trips with cherished dear friends. Together they loved to travel and were so fortunate to see many wondrous destinations around the world.Survivors include his son: Doyce (Lori) Ewing of Lubbock, Kathy Tyler of San Angelo; grandchildren, Joe (Ginny) Tyler of Melissa, Tx. Danielle Ewing of Lubbock, Garrett (Morgan) Davee of Lubbock, Sarah Tyler of Farmers Branch, Tx., Shelby (LeDarion) Jenkins of College Station, Tx., Rachael Davee of Bastrop, Tx., Chachi Tyler of San Angelo; 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins.The family of George Ewing will celebrate his life of 80 years at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 07, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed from this life on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
