Felix Eddie Valdez

The family of Felix Valdez will celebrate his life of 76 years at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Post Texas.  His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 pm, Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Post Texas Community Center.  He passed on Thursday, May 12, 2022. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page and sign his virtual guestbook.On June 17, 1945, Felix Eddie was born to Julio and Louisa Valdez in Post, TX.  He was a long-time resident of Post, where he worked for 20 years at the Burlington Cotton Mill.   After the mill closed, he went to work in Littlefield, Texas at the denim plant for a short period, and then returned to Post.  He worked several years in the oilfield, and then worked for the City of Post before his retirement.  Eddie enjoyed coaching his boys and many other children in the community in baseball.  He later loved playing softball with his sons and friends.  He also loved playing dominoes, cards, bingo, and later in life he became a “machinist”.Survivors include his children, Paul and Amy Valdez of Tyler, Tx, Jimmy and Rhonda Valdez of Post, Tx, Danny Valdez of Post, Tx, Astrid and Joel Acevedo of Amherst, Tx, Christina and Anthony Marquez of Van Alstyne, Tx, Felicha and Michael Esquivel of Shallowater, Tx, Felix and Shelby Valdez II of Van Alstyne, Tx; grandchildren, Amber and Lance Trammell, Courtney and Kameron Mitchell. Colton and Stephanie Valdez, Quinton Valdez, Ashleigh and Keith Monticello, Benjamin Valdez, Bryce Valdez, Ty Shaw, Jaydyn Valdez, Jaycelyn Acevedo, Easton Marquez, Jaylam Canchola, Kaden Canchola, Caleb Canchola, Boston Valdez, Jameson Valdez, and Blakley Valdez; great-grandchildren, Brynlee Grace Trammell, Kaden Mitchell, Khloe Valdez, Ella Valdez, Bo Monticello and Julia Monticello; his brother John and Katie Valdez; sisters Diana Valdez, Susan Valdez, Rita Cleveland, Nora and Luis Arellano and Lesa and Romeo Villegas. And many nieces, nephews and great friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Louisa Valdez, and sisters Mary Castello, Rosie Trevino and Lucy Martin.
