The family of Emory Chadwick (Chad) Moore will celebrate his life of 85 years at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. The service will be live-streamed on this page, where you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy by selecting the icon.The gates of Heaven have opened wide and welcomed veteran, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Emory Chadwick (Chad) Moore. Chad was born in Longview, Texas, on October 25, 1935, to J.L. and Margaret Ann Moore. He lived in Weatherford, Texas, and attended Weather Junior High. Chad and his family moved to Dimmitt, Texas, where he excelled in academics and played on the High School football team. Chad graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1954. He enlisted in the U.S. Army that same year and was stationed in Camp Chaffee, Arkansas, and Kaiserslautern, Germany. While in the Army, he was a swimming instructor and played on the Interservice traveling football team. After he was honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to Texas and was a “Wildcatter” on an oil rig the summer of 1958. He then enrolled at Texas Tech University and was a walk-on for the football team that fall. He was a proud and distinguished alumni of the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon where he was Freshmen pledge president. Before he graduated college, he married Linda Ruth Aycock on January 19, 1961. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1962. He worked for Pollock Paper Company in Dallas as well as Kraft Foods in Lubbock, where he made salesman of the year his first year. He was the owner of Modern Marine and Moore Trucking.Later he worked for A and S Transportation, where he retired as a vice president of operations in 1998. After the death of his wife Linda, he married Suzy Davis on December 31, 1996. Chad was an active Christian and was a member of the Gideons. During retirement Suzy and Chad traveled and were members of the “Billy Sims” and “Tumbleweeds travel clubs. Chad loved God, and he and Suzy were both members of the First Church of the Nazarene in Lubbock. He was loved so much and will be missed by all of his many friends and family.Chad leaves behind his wife Suzy Moore of Lubbock, son Michael Chadwick Moore of Brownwood, daughter Kimberly Dawn Pickrell of Littlefield, daughter Pam Peeks of Graham Jeff Davis of Dallas. He had seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Ann “Sydney” Moore, and John Lorenzo Moore of Dimmit, Texas. His sister Shirley Ann Grimes of Lubbock, his wife Linda Ruth Aycock Moore of Lubbock.
