You are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy by selecting the icon on this page.Edward Lee Jefferson was born on January 4, 1949, to the late Argussie Macklin Jefferson and Daniel Jefferson, Jr., in Canton, Mississippi. The family moved to Mansfield, Ohio, in 1955. He was one of eleven children.He married Ramona Gayle Board on August 21, 1976, in Mansfield, Ohio. They were married by Rev. Joel L. King, Jr., in a garden wedding service in Ohio. He was mentored foremost by Y’shua Hamashiach (Jesus the Messiah), his Lord and Savior, an honored police officer, the late John McDowell, and Rabbis Jack Zimmerman, Marty Waldman, and Steve Shermett, and Pastor Robert Tilton and the uncle of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rev Joel King Sr. their family’s home church pastor.Reverend Ed Jefferson attended different colleges and specialized training programs for his technical skills. He also attended Bible college and was ordained via Victory International Fellowship in Dallas. One of the fondest memories is of him carrying his Bible to high school. As a minister, he traveled with a revival team in the 80s, co-directed the Good Samaritan Center to aid unfortunate families with his wife and family in the Dallas areas, worked and trained with Child Protective Services in Texas/Arizona, and he served under the Judeo-Christian Messianic Faith. Eddie Jefferson’s (as he is also fondly known) trade was an engineer and network field technician. His engineering work included building computers, creating special prototypes at Venture Engineering, and he traveled throughout the USA from Tucson, AZ, to install a special infrastructure for the government in telecommunications. He was miserable traveling from his family after a couple of years and accepted a local network position while in Tucson, AZ/Las Cruces, NM with CenturyLink, until his medical retirement in 2015. His early work included diamond cutting for Dunkin Jewelers and White Westinghouse appliance assembly in Mansfield, Ohio. From his acquired appliance skills, he later opened Quality Discount Appliances, Sales & Service business on the Jefferson shopping strip in Dallas, Texas. He was an entrepreneur at the age of 18 years old when he purchased his first home with Middlebrook Real Estate in Ohio and continued a real estate portfolio for 30 years.He leaves to celebrate his homegoing and to mourn his absence, his devoted wife, Dr. Ramona Gayle Jefferson, and one very cherished son, Daniel Isaac Jefferson. Additionally, a special foster daughter Ami Scott Versace (Matt), and several other foster children. His surviving siblings are one brother Earl (Voncile) Jefferson, of Ohio; five sisters, Earnestine Shelby and Betty Jefferson, both of Ohio; Evone Jefferson of Texas, Bernice Jefferson and Arlesta Jefferson, both of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.He was preceded in death by one sister, Gracie Mae Jefferson Springfield, and three brothers, Willie Jefferson, Richard Jefferson, and Leon Jefferson.
