I joined the administrative staff of Lubbock ISD in July, 1972. I served as an elementary principal for 25 years and always knew I could count on his support. The most important quality he demonstrated as our superintendent was his honor and high moral standards. He wouldn't hesitate to hold us accountable in our performance as school leaders. He did so with care and concern for us. My family and I attended Monterey Church of Christ for several years after we moved to Lubbock. It was always easy to see his love and dedication in his role as an elder. He was a Bible Class teacher par excellence. He loved God's word and his life showed it. It was an honor to know him as a friend and colleague.I have one more thought as I remember his life: "Well done good and faithful servant."

Dear Family and Friends,On behalf of my Mother, Mrs Ruby Lee Douglass, who taught English at Lubbock High when E.C. Leslie joined the faculty. She respected him for his personality and as an educator, and really enjoyed knowing him at LHS. My Mother passed in 2010. E.C. attended her 95th Birthday celebration at Grand Court Assisted Living in Lubbock in 2007. She was trilled and elated E.C. was present.Your family and friends are blessed to have had E.C Leslie in each relationship. Gordon Douglass (MHS class 68)and my sister Janet Douglass Fincher (MHS class 65)

LHS Class of 1973 was very blessed to have had Dr. E. C. Leslie as our high school principal. Dr. Leslie always had a warm hug and such a beautiful smile for all his students. He fought the good fight & has earned his wings in heaven. He will be missed. My thoughts & prayers go out to Dr. Tim Leslie and his immediate family & friends.

The LHS Class of 1969 were blessed to have Mr. E.C. Leslie as our principal. He was more than a principal. He was a counselor, supporter, and a great example of what a true Christian leader is all about. He followed the rules to the tee, but he found a way to help students in rough or troubled times. Recently we were also blessed to have him attend our 50th reunion. It meant a lot to us at the time, but now that he's passed; it means even more that we was able to share special memories with him. We will never forget him. He is a true legend in our hearts. Our prayers and sympathy to all the family during this time of loss, but remember the great memories you have with him and know that he lived a full, happy life.

Dr. Leslie, I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is so hard. But just think of the eventful day your dad had… he got to see Jesus face to face. Oh what a moment that must’ve been! He is healed and whole now and I’m sure he’s ready to lead the choir! He was so strong but he was ready to go home. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7Love and prayers to you and your family. Lynn Womack
