I am sad to hear the passing of Coach Parker for those of us still in this world but know he is in a much better place with Mrs. Parker. Coach Paker recruited me out of Round Rock High School in 1989 to come to Tech. He held many different responsibilities during his time there but I was lucky enough to have him as my position coach for one of my seasons there. Coach Parker was a great coach and friend of mine that always had a kind word, thoughts of encouragement and love for the players he coached regardless of their contribution or skill. They were always "his guys" and many of the guys I played with felt the same way. Coach Parker always had time for "his guys" well beyond their playing days. As I caught up with Doyle periodically over the years he seemed to really relish and enjoy his family and was always happy to share how proud he was of his kids and grandkids. He was a great man and will be missed!
