She married Lawrence Ruff on June 5, 1959, in Tulia, Texas. She was a stay-at-home mom for several years before beginning her work in the County Clerk’s office in 1967. She worked in that office for almost 40 years before retiring as the County Clerk in 2007. She was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God and her faith was the driving force of her life. She loved her family and friends and faithfully prayed for the people in her life. She was generous and caring and gave to many organizations which support the overlooked and ignored.Along with her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Ruff, and her older brother, Edwin.Survivors include her children, Evelyn (Steve) Hughett, and Brad (Nancy) Ruff; grandchildren Erin (Kyle) Crawley, Kristen Rogers, Rebecca Rogers, Kassie (Spencer) Duke, Kelsie (Josh) Shields, Kaylie (Derek) Ramos, Kirstie Ruff, and Karlie Ruff; great-grandchildren Brooks Ruff, Gigi Crawley, Sully Crawley, Daxson Shields, and Rylan Shields; siblings, David Burns and Carol Graham.
