Derrick was always a vibrant and upbeat person, and like any young boy, he loved his video games. Derrick was baptized at age 15 and attended the Sunset Church of Christ for years with his grandparents, Robert and Lavora. He loved going to church camp from a young age into his adult years. He was very active in sports, such as football, wrestling, soccer, and weight lifting. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, riding motorcycles, fishing, and being outdoors. Derrick liked to speak and pray with kids at camp and individuals who were being released from jail. He attended Sunset School of Preaching as well as Lubbock Christian University. He went to Tulsa welding school. He was a member of Austin Local Union 286 as a pipefitter and went to night school. No matter how far away Derrick was, he always made sure to stay in touch with his dad, grandparents, uncles, and cousins, whom he loved very much. Derrick is loved by so many and will forever be in our hearts.Survivors include his father Brett Miller and mother Beverly Miller; grandparents, Robert and Lavora Miller, Sherry Bradford; aunt and uncles, Robin Miller, Kris Miller, Scarlet Reynolds, Bryan Bradford, Corey Bradford, Ira Dozier; cousins, Kassie Truelove, Courtney Grant, Sean Miller, Brittany Joyner, Cody Miller and Reagan Reynolds.He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Eugene and Hazel Miller.
