Darrell Wagner was born April 15, 1944 in Tulia, Texas. He loved golf, fishing, junking, Coca-Cola, country music, and two-steppin’. Darrell and Cathy were married March 17, 2004, St Patrick’s Day, so they could easily remember the date as they grew older.
Darrell passed from this life on November 16, 2024. He is survived by his wife Cathy; their children Julie and Brian Breshears, Jerry and Julie Fletcher , Jay and Katherine Fletcher, and Jodie Fulford; their grandchildren Ashley, Brad, Jessica, Rebekah, Kegan, Hudson, Lucy, Charlie, and Marlowe. He is also survived by nieces Kim and Bari, nephews Todd and Bennie, many friends, and his cats, Waylon and Willie.
Services for Darrell will be at Lone Star Cowboy Church at 10:00 am November 19, 2004. Memorials can be made to Texas Girls & Boys Ranch.
Welcoming Darrell home are his parents Lemoin and Viola Wagner, his sisters Bonnie Johnson and Linda Miller and husband Buddy, and daughter Stefanie Ramirez.
A graduate of Palo Duro HS in Amarillo where he lettered in football, Darrell began working in sales for many years and later worked for Lubbock Sports Med. He loved golf and made a hole in one at Meadowbrook Golf Course in 2020. He was the Marshall at Stonegate Golf Course for several years. He won tournaments in golf, bass fishing, Texas hold ‘em, and bowling. He won Cathy’s heart two-stepping to the tune of Kelly Hastey’s band. Darrell was almost a charter member of Lone Star Cowboy Church having been led there by Kelly and then brought many of his friends to be there. At former churches he served as a deacon and boys’ Sunday School teacher. Always the jokester and the one having the most fun, but being the first to leave their circle of friends, Darrell is sure going to be missed.
