My heart is so heavy with the loss of my sweet nephew, Daren. at the same time, my heart is full of the joy he brought to life. I remember so many times when we were all getting ready to go somewhere, someone would say, “Where’s Daren?” He could always be found talking to someone or investigating something interesting. There was never a dull moment. I’m so happy to have had him in my life and thankful for the time I got to spend with him. I will love you forever.
Rustin Moore left a message on March 22, 2025:
Daren was one of the first friends I made at Evans junior high. I had recently moved so I was starting over making new friends. & One day in the locker room here’s Daren -popping a towel at everyone and being rambunctious. Honestly, I was trying to avoid him, when he stops, & says “hey!”….“you wanna spend the night”. We both laughed so hard at this. But I was looking for a friend, & I guess he was too. So why not. I’d later take him up on the offer of the sleep over. & it’s funny; at that time our parents probably thought we knew each other better than we did when we cleared this plan with them. But the joke was on us. We quickly learned our mothers had gone to high school together, & our fathers knew each other from the electrical trade. So the feeling was that it was meant to be. And it was. Our friendship spanned for decades. & we never lost touch. Most notably: each of us rarely ran a bbq pit without giving the other a pictorial of the event. The way we met -that was Daren. He was oftentimes random, & spur of the moment, but he taught me a lot about how easy a moment can pass you by. He will be deeply missed. My heart goes out to the family & everyone impacted by this loss.

Daren was always a beacon of happiness and light in the lives of everybody around him. His smile and outgoing personality were always the first things you would notice when in his presence. Daren was so kind and welcoming that even the shyest people had no choice but to let loose around him. He had a unique ability to get people to come out of their shell. No family gathering or trip to the lake was quite complete without the fun, food and love that Daren would bring to it. Whether he’d be egging on wrestling matches between my cousins and I in the front yard or smoking a rack of some of the tastiest ribs you could eat, Daren always knew how to make a good time even better. All the memories I have of Daren are full of fun; perfectly reflective of the person that he is. I will miss him dearly, and the world was surely a better place with him in it.

I was in the band with Daren at MHS and we ran in the same circle of friends. Daren was always a joy to be around and I have fond memories of different times we hung out. Not to mention all of the band trips and games football games. I remember laughing and smiling when he was around and just being silly kids. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Love and comfort to your family.

To the guy that brought so much joy, laughter and love to our lives….Daren….the dreamer, the daredevil, the fantastic cook and storyteller! You never met a stranger, you always greeted everyone with your charming smile and attentive mannerisms! I still hear Muvvy’s giggle every time she spoke of you! You will be missed! Until we meet again, over the rainbow,
