Connie A Hawkins

The family of Connie Hawkins will celebrate her life of 86 years at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Muleshoe Memorial Park. Her family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.  We invite you to sign her virtual guestbook and download her memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing.Connie Hawkins left this earth Monday, October 11, 2021, at 4:40 am.  Her beautiful blue eyes closed to the struggles of this world and opened to the freedom and glory of a new life in heaven. We as her children will be forever grateful to God for allowing us to be the children of wonderful loving parents.The girls know her as Mother, Daryl calls her Momma, Bryan calls her Mom.  The grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her Mimi.She was so grown up at such a young age.  Probably that’s where her strong will began to take hold.  She was a survivor. She was honest, trustworthy, talented, strong, and loving.  She made sure her family was cared for in every way.  Christmas was very special because of Mother’s ability to establish simple family traditions.  She loved so many things – sewing for the kids, music, cooking, reading, cross-stitch, dancing with Daddy, and morning coffee with friends.  Her love for her dogs was unmatched.  Rebel was so loved by her.  He already misses her and the sorrow he feels is evident in his behavior.She loved Jesus. All she wanted was to leave the hospital and go home to get well in her own bed. Her words to her kids- “If God is ready for me, he will take me home.” She told us to get on with our lives and take care of our families.Thank you, Mimi, for the special memories and the legacy of love you gave us.  Your trust in us to be responsible with tasks that no parent should give a child was amazing.  It took a brave heart to leave children, not to neglect them but because there was no other choice, with instructions to take care of each other and then go off to your job. With that, we come full circle.  Once again, we’re left to care for each other as you and Daddy are strolling together on the golden streets of heaven fellowshipping with Jesus and the angels and the saints who’ve gone before!Until we see you again, we will find comfort in knowing – you are free!
