The family of Christopher Peters will celebrate his life of 51 years at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Monday, March 8, 2021. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page, sign his virtual guestbook, and download his memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing. On January 27, 1970, Christopher Thayne Peters was born to Thayne and Barbara Peters in Silver City, NM. Chris was the second born between siblings LeeAnn and Ralph. They grew up roaming the hills of Silver City surrounded by a close-knit family. In high school and briefly in college, he ran Cross Country Track and enjoyed running for years after. He married Stacy Odom on September 5, 1992, in Las Cruces, NM, at the University Church of Christ. They raised two sons, Tyler and Marshall, and as a family, shared many adventures. They settled in Lubbock in 2004 and finished raising their family here, with both boys graduating from Texas Tech. Chris was a devoted husband, wonderful father, and grandfather. He and Stacy shared 28 beautiful years as husband and wife. His career choices started in the family business, working at his parents’ car wash; he also worked for his aunt Gloria at the local movie theater. After graduating from NMSU, he went on to work in radio. This career venture came with many perks that Stacy also enjoyed, like meeting various country stars not to drop any names, but the pictures speak for themselves. Every position Chris held through the years came with lessons, adventures, and friendships. His latest employment at IDT Plans as project manager was his most fulfilling, and he truly loved his job. These are the facts of his life, but there is much more to Christopher Peters. He was gifted at crocheting which is a trait he picked up from his grandmother. He also could reload ammunition with the best of them. He worked on many home projects and always wanted to build things stronger and better. He was very social and enjoyed meeting people. Anyone Chris encountered didn’t remain strangers for long. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or figure out. His laughter was distinct, his talents were vast, and he was enjoyed and loved by all.Survivors include his wife, Stacy Peters; their children, Tyler (Jessica) Peters and Marshall Peters; grandchildren, Leiya Peters, Garrison Peters; mother, Barbara Peters, siblings, LeeAnn (Cliff) Hoppman; Ralph (Missie) Peters. He was preceded in death by his father, Thayne Peters. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and he deeply loved his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
