Carla Gay Williamson

Carla Gay Williamson passed away February 1, 2019. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 70 years at 10 a.m. today, February 5, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel.Carla Gay Williamson was born on August 23, 1948, to Boney and Doylene Winkler in Rankin, Texas. She graduated from Crosbyton High School where she was a member of the basketball team; she played the drums in the band, where she was also a fire baton twirler. Years were spent in and out of the rodeo arena from running barrels, working cattle, to sponsoring the Lubbock High Schools Rodeo Association. Carla kept books for CB Thompson for 40 years. Then in 1979 life got busier when she became a mom. The years following were spent on the sidelines coaching Tye in various sports from baseball to soccer. Lots of hours were spent on the road hauling sheep and goats to stock shows all across Texas. Any spare time was spent at the barn then in 2013 life got even busier. Carla got promoted to Granny the fishing guide. The years since then were filled with making memories.Survivors include her son, William Tye Williamson, and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Wyatt Wink, and Waycie Rayann Williamson; sister, Nan McCloy, and husband, Monte; nephew, Matt McCloy and wife, Ingrid; and Clint McCloy and wife, Johnna; and numerous grand nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Boney and Lona Doylene Winkler.
