The family of Bobbie Jean Williams will host a gathering of family and friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM today, August 27, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 87 years is scheduled at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel, followed by a graveside service at City of Lubbock Cemetery. She was born on January 1, 1936, in Clarksville, TX. She dedicated her career to accounting, using her precise and analytical skills to excel in her profession. With an associate degree in hand, Bobbie Jean worked for Whitson King, Crafton Glass and the South Plains Mall corporate office.
Throughout her life, Bobbie Jean’s most precious role was that of a loving mother. Her unconditional love and unwavering support guided and shaped the lives of her children: Debbie (Doug) Kirkman, Kenney (Charlie) Williams, and Darby (Libby) Williams. She adored her grandchildren, Kelee (Tom) Short, and Derek (Ashley) Williams, and took great joy in being a part of their lives. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Trevor Williams, Shalyn Franklin, Kadyn Short and Kambrey Short, who will forever cherish the memories of their beloved Granny. She also leaves her sister, Billie Melot.
Bobbie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, C.L. and Beatrice Porterfield; husband, J.B. Williams, Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Jo Porterfield King.
Bobbie Jean Williams will be forever remembered for her dedication, love, and unwavering spirit. Her impact on those she leaves behind will never fade.
