Ruth Martinez left a message on November 22, 2023: I worked with Bettie many, many years first as Southwestern Bell then AT&T. She was a good friend. We had many serious talks, as well as many, many laughs together. I thought of her often after we each retired. She made this world better. Rest in peace, sweet lady and deepest, heartfelt condolences to the family.

Ashley Akins left a message on November 9, 2023: The first time I met Betty I was 16 years old. I was dating her second son Brandon Akins, and she informed me that I had my hands full with that one. I am now 40 and boy was she right. She was quite sassy, and I loved that about her. She did not hesitate to say what was on her mind. She was one of a kind. Her home was always decorated to the max on Christmas, and she always had plenty of Christmas candy. We enjoyed the time that we had with her and are lucky to have been a small part of her world. Betty was loved by many and will truly be missed.
Ruth Segadi left a message on November 7, 2023: I worked with Bettie for many years at AT&T. Since we retired, we shared Christmas cards each year. You were a sweet person and a cherished friend. RIP Bettie .
Brenda Patterson left a message on November 5, 2023: Bettie worked for me in the business office years ago. I’m so sad to hear of her passing. She was always such a bright spot in our group. She will be missed but I have no doubt where she is right now! She loved her family and friends so much and I’m sure you are all in shock right now. I know I will miss her and feel lucky to have called her my friend.
