Ashrra Gomo beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother entered the arms of her heavenly father on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. She was born on August 27, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Fred Smith, Sr and Emily Tyler Smith.
Ashrra was educated in the public schools of Caddo Parish and Shelby County. She sang in the choir and had a beautiful voice. She was in the choir in elementary, Jr. High, and High School. She graduated from Bethune Jr.-Sr. High School in 1972. After graduating she was accepted to Southern University-Shreveport and Southern University Baton Rouge. Her major was Nursing. Her career began at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, her career path took her through nursing, real estate, banking, and entrepreneurship. She enjoyed traveling and adventures, spending quality time with family was paramount, sharing stories, and creating memories with those she brought into her circle of care. She leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
Her family will miss her deeply. She leaves to cherish her memories: son Calvin Dwight Smith; daughter Consola Denise Johnson and husband Cubit; grandchildren Calvin Smith, Jr., Quinten Anais Johnson, Anysa Ambria Johnson, and Kalaron Arisa Johnson; great-grandson Channing Smith; Brother Thomas Oscar Smith; sister Shirley Smith Jenkins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and numerous friends and neighbors.
Ashrra is preceded in death by her parents Reverend Fred Smith Sr, and Emily Tyler Smith; brothers Fred Smith, Jr., Billy Loricco Smith, Jimmie Don Smith, and Lonnie Andrew Smith; Sister Irene Fay McNair.
