A service to celebrate the 90 years of life of Arlen Wesley, is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, followed by a time of fellowship with family and friends. Arlen Wesley was born January 24, 1933, to Elvin and Edna Carr Wesley in Wayside, TX. He married Jeri Anglin on January 22, 1956 at Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas. Arlen grew up in Littlefield Texas where he was a proud member of the 1949 Wildcat State Football Championship team. He graduated Littlefield High School and then accepted a scholarship to attend Texas Tech University where he was a 4-year letterman, He was a member of the Red Raider football team that played won the 1951 Sun Bowl and then they went on to win the 1953 Gator Bowl. His last year on the team in 1955 he had the honor of being named co-captain. He graduated from Tech and after a short career of coaching football in Plainview, he raised his family who he dearly loved and built his life in Lubbock, where he went on to have a successful career in real estate and property management.
Arlen is survived by his wife, Jeri Wesley; children, Kyle Wesley, Lara (Jeff) Woodham; grandchildren, Chase Wesley, Chance Wesley, Adam Wesley, Alec Wesley, Ryan Woodham, Courtney Woodham; great-grandchild, Presley Sevart; sister, Sue Sewell.
He is preceded in death by parents, Elvin, and Rose Wesley, and Edna Wesley; daughter, Lydia Sevart; sister, Gayle Wesley.
The family would like to thank all the people who took such great care of Arlen during this last year of his life.
