On February 14, 1998, she married George Winton at First United Methodist in Lubbock, Texas. Alison was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She taught elementary school and worked as an administrative assistant in the Texas Tech system and at First United Methodist Church (Lubbock) for many years. She had a life-long passion for studying the Word of God and taking the Word out into the world. To know Alison is to hear stories about her beloved sons and five grandchildren.Above all, Alison was a prayer warrior who showed unwavering faith even in life’s darkest moments. She bravely fought ovarian cancer for more than two years and, having finished her race, is rejoicing with her Savior and the many loved ones who have gone before her.Survivors include her children, Ed McMurray and wife, Kathleen, Connor McMurray and wife, Kari; grandchildren, Kasey Merriott and husband, Caleb, Nathan, Caitlin, Emily, and Sarah McMurray; sibling, Warren Taylor and wife, Lisa, nephew, Brock Taylor, and niece, Alyssa Taylor. “In the end, love God and love on others.” – Alison, Oct. 2020
