Russell Pollard

The family of Russell Pollard will celebrate his life of 40 years at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Morton Memorial Cemetery. In support of the health of his family, face coverings are mandatory while attending the service and visitation.  The service will be live-streamed and be available for thirty days at www.memorialdesigners.net. The family would love for you to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy by selecting the icon.  Your contribution in this way will mean so much to the family and will provide comfort in the years to come.Russell Pollard was born on November 26, 1979, to Terry Pollard and Jonice Killough in Muleshoe, Texas. He married Tracy Nixon on October 17, 2019, in Lubbock, Texas.Russell was raised on a cotton farm about a mile north of a tiny town in West Texas called Stegall.  Much of his early childhood was spent going on country adventures with his brother, cousins, and friends.  On any given day, they’d go chase cows, walk down to Grand mom and Pop’s house, play basketball, ride around on the go-cart or shoot bb-guns (sometimes at each other.)Russell attended Three Way ISD from kindergarten through his graduation.  He was the salutatorian of his class and received the Superintendent’s Award for being the student-athlete with the highest GPA in high school.   He excelled at his academics, football, and basketball.Russell was many things to many people.  He met and kept many close friends through his work.  He was the happiest we’ve seen him over the last couple of years after he met the love of his life, Tracy.  They took and planned many adventures.  Russell loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing with Tracy and their close friends.Family was so important to Russell and he cherished the time he got to spend with them.  Russell had a big heart and if you were lucky enough to be loved by him, you knew a love like no other.  His hugs were legendary!Russell was a poet, philosopher, advisor, and deep thinker.  He enjoyed discussions and debates on politics, religion, and life.  Those closest to him spent many hours after closing time, maybe on a back porch somewhere, reminiscing, discussing the deeper meanings of life, or just chatting about whatever.Russell touched the lives of so many.  He was a husband, stepdad, son, grandson, uncle, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and confidant.  He was loved by so many and his unique soul will truly be missed.Survivors include his wife, Tracy Pollard, stepsons, Jonah and Bishop Rodriguez, father, Terry Pollard, mother, Jonice Killough, brother, Scott Pollard, and his wife, Erin, nieces, Stella and Alyvia Pollard, and maternal grandmother, Savannah (Shug) McCamish. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Morris Killough, paternal grandparents, Carl and Elsie Pollard.
