We will celebrate her life of 52 years at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel. She passed on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. A lifelong nurse who loves to help others, Rosela Monteverde was born to Otelo and Angeles Arana in Sagasa City, Philippines. Her earliest memories were of her dreams to go far in life, her love for Disney princesses, and getting to see the world. She accomplished her goals, graduating with a degree in Nursing from Riverside Medical Center with her BSN. She then began working at Riverside Medical Center as a nurse where she later met Romeo Monteverde, as a patient in need of critical care. She nursed him to health and love flourished between the two of them. After a 5 year engagement, she married Romeo Monteverde on June 6, 1998, in Bacolod City, Philippines. They later had two boys, Kier and Kent Monteverde, whom they grew to love and raise with all their hearts.In 2004, Rosela applied for a nursing position at University Medical Center to have the opportunity to travel abroad. After years of studying and passing her exams, she qualified for the position and came to America in 2006. She came with a fantastic group of equally talented nurses, whom she developed wonderful friendships with, and arrived in Lubbock, Texas on June 6, 2006. Rosela’s husband and two children followed shortly after.Rosela’s friends and coworkers described her as having an infectious smile, always brining about a positive energy in the workplace. She was respected for her knowledge and wisdom and taught many prestigious nurses in the field today. Most importantly, she was resolute and helped many patients with the compassion and vigor that she shared as a mother.Rosela worked at University Medical Center for 15 years in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, where she earned the titles of Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Critical Care Registered Nurse. Rosela went back to school in 2017 at Lubbock Christian University, in order to receive her Master of Science in Nursing. In December of 2020, she officially earned the title of MSN.Rosela loved to garden, travel, take photographs, spend time with her family, and immerse herself in a good book. She was easy to approach and made many friends in all her experiences. She loved to reminisce in old memories whether videos, photos, or recollections. She was a devoted mother who feared God and a loving Christian. Rosela toured the world and got to live many of her dreams that she had as a child. She accomplished so many goals and lived a beautiful life. Rosela died surrounded by her loving family and friends. She leaves her legacy behind to her children Kier and Kent, and her husband Romeo who she knows will continue to live life with memorability and selflessness.Survivors include her husband, Romeo Monteverde; their children, Kier and Kent Monteverde; siblings, sister Rowena with her husband Radnie Castro; brother Rodnel with his wife, Imy Arana; brother Rollen with his wife, Robilla Arana; brother Rolgin with his wife, Rowena Arana; brother Otelo Arana Jr.; sister Ana Marie with her husband, Aron Salvador; and brother Ryan Arana. All of Rosela’s siblings live in Sagasa City with her mom, Angeles Arana. She was preceded in death by her father, Otelo Arana.
