The family will celebrate his life of 61 years at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Lubbock, Texas. He attended Lubbock schools and attended Texas Tech University. He worked many years for Coca-Cola Enterprises until pursuing a new journey in Logistics and Installations. His passion for sports was known by all, he loved football, baseball, golf, and in his younger years boxing. He loved to coach the youth and was well known in the community for his baseball skills and took the Lubbock Dixie team to the Little League State Tournament in 2002, an event he proudly shared with his son Brandon. He shared this passion with all his children and grandchildren. Fred continued coaching throughout the years assisting with his grandson’s baseball teams in Lubbock and Terry counties. He was dearly loved by all his baseball family. He became a grill master and loved to share his masterpieces of smoked brisket, ribs, and chicken with his family and friends, often exchanging skills with his son Brandon. He impacted so many lives in so many ways and his presence will be dearly missed. He loved his faith as a Catholic and attended St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, most of all he loved his beautiful family. His legacy will live on for years to come through those he loved.Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Garza; children, Brooke (Matt) Vasquez, Brittany Garza, Brandon (Gina) Garza, Tessa (Johnny) Lucio, Jo’Ana (Roy) Davis, Monica (Kevin) Gamez, Seth (Dariann) Villarreal; grandchildren, Mallory, Kelvin, Brianna, Nate, Madison, Tyler, Gabby, Joe, Mary, Joseph, Isabella, Jace, Javen, Scarlett; siblings, Bob (Judy) Garza, Daniel (Debbie) Garza; Eva Garza; several loving aunts; and numerous very special nieces and nephews; other beloved family and lifelong friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Joe G. Garza; mother, Margarita Rivera Garza; brother, Joe Velez; brother, Ray Velez; grandchild, Jonah Lucio.
