James Alan Carter was born August 22, 1974, to Marion and Gayle Carter in Hereford, Texas. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1993. He was born with a rare kidney condition that resulted in a kidney transplant and eventually dialysis for the past 21 years. James was a music lover who started playing gigs with his Dad at an early age. He also played the drums in the Hereford High School Band. After high school, he attended South Plains College for 2 years. He was fortunate enough to travel to many places and play with some talented musicians throughout the years. We believe that music carried him through the difficult times with his health.
He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents: several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
James is survived by his parents, Marion and Gayle Carter of Hereford, Texas; sister, Linda (Terry) Thompson; niece, Hannah Thompson; nephews, Kole and Dustin Thompson all of Canyon, Texas.
The family suggests memorials to the National Kidney Foundation.
